NaoX Technologies turns headphones into brain activity sensors for neuroscience. Today the startup is raising €4.3M to develop a next-generation electroencephalograph aimed at improving the diagnosis and treatment of neurological diseases.
"If the results are conclusive, CE marking and marketing could be envisaged as early as the end of 2023 in Europe and the United States," explains Hugo Dinh, co-founder and CEO of the startup.
The financing round was led by Kurma Partners, the Bpifrance Autonomous Patient Fund, BNP Paribas Développement
and Majycc e-Santé Invest. This round also includes a non-dilutive financing from Bpifrance. This financing round follows a pre-seed with Attali & Associés.
The company's ambition is to conduct a clinical trial with the Adolphe de Rothschild Foundation Hospital as principal investigator, which should start by the end of 2022, with a view to obtaining a CE mark and marketing by the end of 2023. The first targeted pathology is epilepsy.
"By successfully combining miniaturization and signal quality, NaoX transforms an increasingly common everyday object into a real device for measuring brain activity. It gives access to real-life data recorded over relatively long periods of time that were previously inaccessible. We are delighted to support Hugo and its teams in their development ambitions", says So-Yeon Koo, Autonomous Patient Fund.
Congratulations to the team and good luck!
